A sensible first session

  1. Read the city beach rules before leaving home, including seasonal and time-of-day restrictions.
  2. Watch from shore, then fish a small bottom bait in one identifiable trough.
  3. If the beach becomes busy, pack up or move to an authorized pier instead of casting around people.

Access matters

The city publishes seasonal restrictions covering Oceanfront sand beaches. Boardwalk, jetty and private-property access are separate questions. Follow posted restrictions and do not target sharks from the beach.

When to pay attention

Early or late sessions can reduce conflicts with beach use only when fishing is permitted. Dawn is not automatic permission to fish any shoreline.
