A sensible first session

  1. Pick an official public facility with a clear arrival and return plan.
  2. Start with small bottom baits from a pier, or a paddle tail along a safely reachable edge.
  3. Before any boat trip, check the marine forecast and carry appropriate safety equipment; bridges and shipping lanes are not beginner destinations.

Access matters

“Chesapeake Bay” describes a large waterbody, not a public access point. Follow the selected locality’s facility rules and the regulations for the jurisdiction you actually fish.

When to pay attention

Moving bait, water temperature and wind shape opportunities. The game’s cobia or bridge scenarios are simulations, not instructions to navigate offshore.
